New Zealand has been voted as the best country to move to by the readers of a Swedish magazine.
Most voters were in the 20-40 age category and voted New Zealand far ahead of countries such as the United States and Australia.
One respondent said "New Zealand is like Sweden as far as the social structure is concerned, but it also has a wonderful climate". Another said New Zealand people are "extremely friendly and there is a pleasant life pulse".
A total of 11000 people voted in the survey conducted by Res magazine - a glossy, high-end travel magazine. This is the first year Res has included a question, in its annual survey, about the preferred destination for a permanent move. The next favourite 'new home' countries - after New Zealand - were Spain (where many older Swedes retire), Greece and Thailand.
