Car prices differ depending on make and model, and whether the car is new or second hand.
The Automobile Association of New Zealand (AA) provides new car prices based on the manufacturers’ or importers’ recommended retail prices. The AA also provides information on second hand cars, insurance and New Zealand driver licenses.

There are numerous New Zealand websites that sell second-hand cars from one member of the public to another. One of the more popular websites is TradeMe.
It is also possible to import cars into New Zealand, although there are legal requirements that have to be met when this is done. These differ depending on whether you are importing a new or used motor vehicle.
