Your length of stay will be assessed upon arrival, but three months is the norm for visitors from countries requiring no visa. You may need to show evidence of funds to support your stay, and you will require a return air ticket.

And if you are under the age of 31 (up to 35 for US citizens), you may want to consider a Working Holiday Visa that provides you the best of both worlds – travelling and earning a wage as you go! Generally they are issued for 12 months (23 months for UK Nationals).
